Cool Racing Gear, Tinted Visors and Race Suits Make You Faster!

Do you know any seriously quick drivers who show up with dodgy looking racewear, cheapy crash helmets or plain looking karts? Well I don't so if you want to get down with the quick crew, you better check out the EvenFlow Guide to Looking Cool in a Kart.

Because when drivers look good with all their favourite cool racewear, they feel much better...and in my experience, a driver who really cares how he and his kart looks also really loves his karting...and that is something that seperates the men from the boys.....the right look really does count!

Martyn Lyell sticking it sideways for the cameras
Martyn Lyell recently rolled his kart and bust a rib, but he and his dad were more gutted that he ruined his nice new helmet design, and ripped his JKH suit!!

Now I imagine lots of people proclaiming 'What the hell has tarting up your appearance got to do with going fast!!!' And in theory they are right because a great looking driver with smart racewear has no actual physical advantage, obviously.

But in reality they are WRONG , people aren't perfectly logical, and putting effort into co-ordinating your racewear and spending out on a nice crash helmet and visor is a sign of something else, something intangible, and that is how much you love your karting- not just the driving but the whole of the karting experience.

And that includes driving, sitting at home looking at karting magazine over and over, cleaning and re-cleaning your kart, studying the best drivers from video's, messing around with stickers so your kart looks immaculate and so on. And this has a real psychologial effect, your affection for your kart and the whole appearance of it fosters commitment and confidence. And this translates to better kart driving performance!

Steps to getting the right racewear and looking good

Matty Tipping and his well smart crash helmetRacewear item 1. Iridium visor or Dark Smoked for your crash helmet. You can't get cooler than an iridium!

stuart Sellars has gon for the Sparco with all the fins!Racewear item 2. A proper motor sport crash helmet, not a bike one! A nice crash helmet (Arai is the favourite) is a must, and a striking and tasteful paint job can set you apart from the lesser karters!

Rediculous in terms of cost...but they look pukka, my vote goes to the Intrepid suits, and also a nod to the Birel ones. However, some driver's like Stuart Sellars look wicked without the team suits, but he carries plenty of smart badges on it. team ART know the value of looking good, and have splashed out on custom team suits, and see, they have all found themselves a bird each just because they have cool suits!
